Nino Franco Prosecco Rustico
Perfect for your Christmas breakfast Buck’s Fizz or Kir Royale, this Prosecco comes from one of the oldest wineries in the renowned Prosecco producing and oh-so picturesque region of Valdobbiadene in Veneto, northeast Italy. This bright straw-coloured wine is delicious and deceptively complex, styled as an aperitif with tantalising aromas of white flowers and fruit. On the palate it’s delicately effervescent and creamy with a smooth lingering finish, an ideal pairing with smoked salmon and unwrapping of presents.

Nyetimber Tillington Single Vineyard 2013
Created by one of the pioneers of English sparkling, this limited production cuvée from West Sussex is an example of what an exceptional vintage can produce when Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are perfectly blended. This is a special wine for a special occasion, redolent of strawberries, cherries and mandarin with hints of praline and crème brûlée. Combining a balanced elegance and richness on the palate, with refreshing English acidity and a decadent finish, this is a sparkling to savour with a hearty fish or chicken dish.

This is a cava made for a chef’s kitchen, the Ars Collecta range is the result of more than five centuries of cava production, so the team at Codorníu near Barcelona know a thing or two about making great traditional method sparkling wine. A blend of Pinot Noir and local varieties, Trepat and Xarel·lo lends to the wine’s almost mystical golden highlights and hues of purple, matched by an expressive flavour profile that is fresh and creamy, yet subtle enough to pair with a hearty lunch with family.

Take your time with this sip of history produced by the oldest Champagne house in France, still owned by its founding family. This alluring multi-vintage Champagne from the Aÿ Grand Cru in the Vallée de la Marne is a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay resulting in a refined, elegant wine for very special occasions. Look out for energetic notes of ripe apples, peaches, plums and honey, combined hints of bread dough and ginger on its deliciously moreish finish.

Taittinger Collection Corneille 1990
One for the collector, the striking exterior of this beautiful bottle is by the late Dutch painter Corneille, a founder of the avant-garde, post WWII, COBRA art movement. If you’re feeling a little high spirited and rebellious this new year, this 1990 vintage champagne from one of the most famous champagne houses in the world is for you. A Brut Millésimé from the renowned Taittinger Collection, it’s sensuously aromatic with glazed apples and vanilla custard on the nose, followed by a multi-layered palate of dried fruit and toasted almonds. One to get the party started!
