Take a walk on the wild side with this season’s boldest wall coverings

Unleashing a riot of glorious colour, the best-dressed rooms this season are bursting with the boldest botanicals. From joyous jungle scenes complete with resident wildlife to huge hand-drawn florals that celebrate the beauty of the garden in stunning close-up, there is something to suit every home — and breathe new life into the concept of a feature wall
“We’ve seen a shift in trends when it comes to floral design,” says Rachel Kenny, Head of the design studio at wallpaper mural specialists Wallsauce. “Whether it be a wall covering or a cushion, demand has taken a turn from delicate patterns with off-white backgrounds to giant, bold florals on deep, dark and intriguing backgrounds.”
As designers continue to look to the natural world for inspiration, this is a trend that bucks the muted shades of the ever-popular Scandi look. This is a more surreal approach to style that brings the outside in in all its colourful glory.
Delicate botanical drawings from yesteryear provide a huge mine of inspiration, reimagined as vast blooms that would grace any garden in Alice’s Wonderland, together with all sorts of brilliant-hued birds and curious creatures. “Everyone
is eager to explore botanical curiosities in interior design this year,” says Jess Howard, from MuralsWallpaper.
This is not a look for shrinking violets — be bold and embrace your inner anthophile with this season’s most exuberant wallcoverings, all hand-picked by the Wildflower team.
